Members reminded to participate in “My Care Counts” online campaign
Conveying support takes less than a minute
Hospital employees, volunteers, trustees, patients, and community members are reminded to make their voices heard in support of their hospitals by participating in “My Care Counts,” an online grassroots campaign.
“It literally takes less than a minute to click onto www.mycarecounts.org,” campaign organizers said in a recent e-mail.”
The call-to-action gathers petition signatures urging policymakers in Washington to oppose any funding cuts to hospitals and the care they provide. Sponsored by the American Hospital Association, the effort encourages hospitals to feature the campaign on their Web sites and to promote it within their facilities. Some have made the campaign a priority by setting up computers for their employees and patients to use to convey their support, AHA said
“At a time when resources are scarce and challenges are mounting, cutting funding for hospital services is bad policy for my health and the health of my community,” the My Care Counts Web site says.
