Clinical Pastoral Education Schedule

Full-time units of CPE are offered in Sioux Falls each summer for 11 weeks during June, July and August. A six-week half unit of CPE occasionally is offered. Other programs, 17 weeks part-time, begin in September and again in January. The part-time programs are conducted in Sioux Falls and our regional hospitals within the Avera system on a rotating basis.

CPE Units for Fall 2008

Aberdeen, S.D.

A full unit of CPE meets Thursdays (began Sept. 18) at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.

Estherville, Iowa

A half unit of CPE meets Thursdays (began Sept. 4). Peter Holland, supervisor.

Marshall, Minn.

A full unit of CPE meets Wednesdays (began Sept. 3). Peter Holland, supervisor.

Sioux Falls, S.D.

A full unit of CPE meets Tuesdays (began Sept. 2) at Sioux Falls Seminary. Students participating in this unit will take the Interdisciplinary Palliative Care Seminar sponsored by Sanford Medical School. Peter Holland, supervisor.

A half unit of CPE meets Mondays (began Sept. 8) at Sioux Falls Seminary. Steve Corum, supervisor.

North Dakota

The Fargo CPE Center supervised by Dr. Dixie Potratz Lehman is offering CPE in Fargo, N.D., on Thursdays (began Sept. 4) and Bismarck, N.D., on Tuesdays (began Sept. 9). Contact Dixie at vlehman229@aol.com for further information.

Future CPE Units

Units of CPE are expected to be offered in Mitchell, Rapid City, Sioux Falls and Yankton, S.D., within the next two years. Call (605) 322-4713 for specific dates of these programs.
