Hospice, a concept of caring for a person in the last stages of a terminal illness, is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week by Avera Hospice Mitchell, a Medicare-certified, JCAHO Accredited program available through Avera Queen of Peace Hospital.

A hospice team of professionals provides comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and spiritual care. The goal of the hospice program is to enable terminally ill individuals and their families to live as fully and comfortably as possible in the time that is left.

Care and Warmth, Wherever and However You Choose

Avera Hospice Mitchell provides Christian-based caring and support for terminally ill people and their families. We are committed to helping people during the final stage of life's journey, providing care in the warmth and comfort of their chosen environment surrounded by family and friends.

Hospice is becoming an increasingly desirable end-of-life choice because of the personal interaction with a team of caregivers who manage medical care and answer the spiritual and emotional needs of the patient and family.

Many people turn to Hospice because it truly gives them a choice about how they want to receive care - and where they want to receive care - at the end of their lives.
