Avera Queen of Peace Hospital

Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, sponsored by the Benedictine and Presentation Sisters, is a 120-bed, acute care, JCAHO-certified regional medical center serving Mitchell, SD, and a 15-county area. The Avera Queen of Peace Cancer Center provides comprehensive radiation and medical cancer services in a beautiful facility connected to the hospital. The hospital's Emergency  Department has earned certification as a Level III Trauma Center and our new Maternal Care Center includes a Level II nursery. The most recent construction project, completed in 2007, includes a new addition to the Surgery area, a Same Day Services unit, a new Maternal Care Center and beautiful waiting rooms.  

Our young and dynamic, 45-member medical staff is comprised of 17 specialties. We have limited managed care, low malpractice premiums and NO state income tax.
