Hospital Programs and Services

Chaplaincy Services

Personnel from Chaplaincy Services are available to help meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and their families. Chaplains make regular visits and are on call for emergency situations. The chaplain also will be happy to contact your pastor upon request.

Nutrition Services

Wholesome, well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. The hospital makes every effort to provide home-cooked, nutritious meals that are prepared according to your doctor’s orders. If you’re on a special diet prescribed by your doctor, you will receive menus that meet your specific needs.

A volunteer distributes menus on a daily basis so you can mark your selections. Please share dietary concerns with your nurse. The clinical nutrition staff will assess your nutrition status and provide nutrition counseling, or assist you with special nutritional needs. Some illnesses or conditions may require special medical nutritional therapy, such as oral supplements, tube feedings, or intravenous feedings. These alternate feeding methods will help give you adequate nourishment for faster recovery.

If a family member or friend wants to eat in your room with you, he/she may go to the cafeteria, purchase a meal, and bring it back to your room. If the individual does not want to go to the cafeteria, you may request a guest tray which will be delivered to your room. There is a charge for a guest tray and arrangements must be made in advance with nursing.

Social Services

Social Workers are available for psycho-social assessments and counseling. They assist with discharge planning, assessing financial resources, and are available to help the patient and family cope with illness or injury.

Same Day Services

The Same Day Services staff provides care for patients having outpatient procedures, including same day surgeries and endoscopies. These outpatient procedures are billed through your insurance as an outpatient service or to Medicare Part B. In some cases, you may need to stay overnight, but you will still be considered an outpatient.

The Cancer Center provides comprehensive professional services, including radiation and medical oncology for cancer patients in a 17-county region. The facility is equipped with advancing health care technology; our professional staff is top notch and dedicated to providing personal, caring services to individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Outpatient Observation

On occasion, a physician may admit a patient for observation on an outpatient basis to any nursing department according to diagnosis and/or condition. This observation admission is regarded as an outpatient service when billing your insurance or Medicare Part B. In some cases, you may need to stay overnight, but you will still be considered an outpatient and an outpatient claim will be filed to your insurance and/or Medicare.
