Transplant and Oncology Services Nurse Manager Elected to Board of Governors

Kari Jibben, RN, OCN, CCTN, nurse manager for the Transplant and Oncology Services unit, has been elected as an at-large representative for the American Board of Transplant Certification. As such, Kari will serve on the Marketing and Exam committees.

The American Board of Transplant Certification is an independent, not-for-profit organization that was founded in 1988. Its purpose is to award a voluntary, non-government certification credential to qualified solid organ transplant professionals who have successfully passed the certification exam, which represents a standard of competency.

Kari’s election to this position will mean a broader voice for the Avera McKennan Transplant program. Kari serves as an example for other clinical transplant nurses who are planning to become certified. It is through certification that nurses reach out to one another, literally worldwide, to learn what is new in transplant and how to deliver the best in patient care.
