The Avera Children's Champion award recognizes how young patients not only cope with their illness or injury, but how they overcome obstacles with patience, courage, strength and even joy.
Our Current Avera Children's Champions
The Avera Children's Champion award goes to Samuel, an amazing 8 yr old boy. Samuel has had an extended stay at Avera Children's of over three weeks due to ongoing health conditions. Samuel has had previous hospitalizations as well. He has undergone several procedures and tests during his stay. Samuel has a wonderful support team including his parents, grandparents, friends and family. He loves to listen to music, stories and also enjoys going for rides in the hallway. Congratulations Samuel for being so brave.
