Avera McKennan is proud of its leadership role in the application of video technology for Telemedicine, Distance Learning and Videoconferencing. This technology allows live interactive video connections between healthcare facilities and healthcare providers throughout our region, and world-wide. That means physicians, patients and staff can interact 24 hours a day without the need for long-distance travel.
The technology located at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center is part of regional efforts to increase the availability of human and informational resources to other facilities and to strengthen the delivery of local healthcare services in communities throughout the region.
