Denise Greene, M.D.
Dr. Greene joined Hegg Medical Clinic Avera in September of 1996. She and her husband, Nick, have five children: Ryan, Lacey, Chris, Kate and Samie. They also have two grandchildren: Ashley and Brayden. Dr. Greene and her family enjoy boating, camping and watching NFL football, especially the Vikings.

Dr. Greene graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, and completed her residency in Family Practice in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Dr. Greene provides a full range of family practice services, including geriatrics, OB, pediatrics, orthopedics and General Medicine.

Roy Slice, M.D.
Dr. Slice grew up in Northern California. He received a BS in physics from Stanford University. He graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1984. His family practice residency program was at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Following the completion of nine years of family practice in Alamosa, Colorado, Dr. Slice joined Hegg Medical Clinic Avera in 1996.

Dr. Slice’s goal is to serve people of all ages by providing top quality healthcare close to home. He states that “At Hegg Medical Clinic Avera, you will be treated as we would treat our own family members.” Dr. Slice lives in Hull, Iowa with his wife Elizabeth and their seven children ranging in age from 5-17.

Kevin Post, D.O.
Dr. Post provides a full range of family practice services. He enjoys treating patients of all ages, and has special interests in obstetrics, pediatrics and diabetes. He is a D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) which allows him to perform spinal manipulation as well.

Dr. Post attended medical school at Des Moines University-Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa; and then completed his residency training in family practice in Sioux City, Iowa. Dr. Post is passionate about community education, focusing on prevention.

Dr. Post lives in Rock Valley with his wife Sandra, and their 3 sons (Nate, Hunter and Nicolas). His hobbies include reading, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Greg Van Peursem, PA-C
Greg grew up in Orange City, Iowa, and graduated with a degree in Biology/Health Sciences from Northwestern College in Orange City. He attended Des Moines University Medical School Physician Assistant program and graduated in 1995.

Prior to moving to Rock Valley, Greg worked in Omaha at a Hispanic Outreach Clinic for three years and at a Family Practice Clinic for four years.

Greg enjoys teaching patients about their illness by using explanations, pictures and/or drawings that people can understand.

Greg is married to Donna Pennings, formerly of Sheldon, Iowa. She works in Rock Valley and Sheldon at Creative Living as a mental health therapist. They have three children: Emily, Connor and Parker.

Interests include spending time with family, outdoor activities, motorcycling and singing.
