About the Dougherty Hospice House
The main goal of the Dougherty Hospice House is to improve the quality of a patient’s end-of-life journey offering comfort and dignity from an interdisciplinary team of specially trained professionals and volunteers.
We do this by providing a unique sixteen-bed facility with a home-like setting to bring peace and comfort to patients and their loved ones. More important, we provide the warmth and security of home while offering the acute medical assistance required for end-of-life care.
This home away from home also provides:
- Natural settings that emphasize light and cheerful
- Open views that keep the hospice bright
- An assurance of privacy and dignity
- Private patient rooms with private bathrooms
- Visitor sleeping accommodations
- Built-in medical and technological features with minimum disruption to the residential feel
- A small meditation room to accommodate spiritual needs
- Nurses' stations designed for both visibility and confidentiality
- A living room and dining area where families can congregate and share conversation
