Cancer Navigation Services

The Avera Cancer Institute offers navigation services for breast cancer patients. Patients and families are often overwhelmed when hearing the word "cancer". Our certified nurse navigators serve as knowledgeable, supportive guides for patients from the time of initial diagnosis through their treatment and follow-up care.

Cancer care may involve several physician specialists, as well as several types of treatments. Navigation allows a consistent person to provide education and support for decision making in every phase of the patient's treatment process.

There are two certified breast health navigators on staff at the Avera Cancer Institute:
