The OPTIFAST® Program

The OPTITRIM® Program
The Avera Center for Medical Nutrition also offers a calorie-controlled weight management program called OPTITRIM, which utilizes nutrition education, behavior modification and activity promotion. This program is designed more for individuals who have 20-40 pounds of weight to lose and are otherwise healthy. For more information on this program, go to OPTITRIM Program.

Outreach Programs
The Avera Center for Medical Nutrition now offers both the OPTIFAST and the OPTITRIM Programs in an outreach capacity for individuals who live outside of the Sioux Falls area. In most cases, outreach participants see their own physicians and attend the group support sessions over the phone or through telehealth, if available.
Information Sessions
Twice a month, we offer free, no obligation information sessions explaining the programs we offer. These sessions can also be attended over the phone for those individuals interested in participating in as an outreach patient.
